Do you have a long-haul flight in your future? Maybe you’ll find something helpful on this list. The links are for Amazon, full disclosure.
My Bose QC35 noise canceling headphones are my favorite thing on all flights, short or long. They’re comfortable, hold a charge for a long time, and shut out the roar of the plane. The sound quality is great whether for music or audiobooks and podcasts. I’ve also used these when I’m recording in a studio that allows me to use my own.
The Cabeau Evolution neck pillow with carrying case was a great last minute purchase at the airport, and enabled me to get about 7 hours of sleep on the flight—what a difference this made. Instead of little beads inside, this one is memory foam with a higher area around the sides and back to keep your head upright. When you clip the front ties together and tighten, the snug support lets you release into sleep. There’s also a little pocket where you can keep an eye mask.
Some Biotène Dry Mouth Lozenges in case of pesky cough. I get these three boxes at a time so I always have some around.
The Smartwool Color Block Compression Socks I bought at Walkabout Outfitters in Harrisonburg seemed to work well and they’re not itchy.
A melatonin supplement to help me fall - and stay - asleep.
Oh - and how did I know how long I slept and the quality of my sleep? My Oura ring - here’s a code for $40 off if you’re interested. I’ve worn mine a few years now and find the information interesting and helpful.
I’ll post about sightseeing (and eating) in Sydney next.
